I didn’t realize that Palin was doing so badly lately in interviews or in the polls…today’s debate will be crucial:

NATO’s senior commander in Afghanistan wants more troops and civilian assistance (to train Afghanistan’s Army and police), but it doesn’t appear Afghanistan will get that help–additional troops aren’t available for Afghanistan until we pull troops out of Iraq. However, the US will try to double the amount of UAVs that they have now. Unfortunately, General Atomics cannot keep up with current orders for UAVs, so I don’t see how they will be able to respond to an order for more:

Interesting how the contractor that our government pays to protect our nuclear facilities can say that having a guard talk for 1000 minutes a month on his cell phone to a woman he’s having an affair with poses no risk to security. Of course, they actually said earlier that having security guards sleeping while on duty posed no risk for nuclear security…

DARPA just killed their shape-shifting supersonic bomber program:

This robber was amazingly creative…so clever to have recruited decoys via Craigslist–having them dress just like he was going to dress so that people wouldn’t know who the real robber was!

AT&T says that LTE is 3 years away and WiMAX is a niche technology. AT&T seems quite happy with HSPA and says that Qualcomm’s EV-DO is limited:

T-Mobile is planning to order up to 2 million G1 (Android-based) phone by next year. That would be a pretty impressive sales rate, especially since other Android-based phones (including versions of the G1) are expected to show up for other cellular carriers next year:

Google touts its platform-wide search integration for Android phones:

Electronic Arts will not move their “premiere” games to the Android platform until they can charge for them:

The Blackberry Bold (the phone I really want to be my next phone!) was supposed to come out in August, then it was delayed to October, and now it has been delayed to November! Maybe I’ll seriously look at the Blackberry Storm, since it will take months for the Bold to come out on Verizon after it is released for AT&T:

I’m glad that Apple dropped their NDA for iPhone developers:

This is amazing to me…older drivers (50-75) may get discounts on their auto insurance if they play computer games!

Scary and disturbing video of a man repeatedly punching a 16-year-old girl in the face due to a dispute of who was first in line at an LA-area McDonald’s:
